This is a City of Kalamazoo Web site that allows you to search house addresses in the city to learn about ownership over the years and original date of construction:

Two people in the know, Sharon Carlson and Lynn Houghton, have warned that the dates of construction listed at this Web site may sometimes (how often is not clear) be inaccurate. Apparently the Assessor's office does not routinely verify dates--it just uses dates provided by current owners or by realtors. So, buyer beware. -Michael Reed
