The above plans are very similar to what were submitted last time. The major changes are the elimination of the need for a variance of the set back, although a portion of the proposed road and two of the entrances are over the 25ft set back, but the building are within the setbacks. The other is the change of the road only in front of the tennis courts. That portion looks to be slightly widen and will be repaved; it is uncertain what paving material will be used. From previous conversation I have had' the only remaining concern with the city may be Summit Drive. Will the intersection be too dangerous, will emergency response be able to make it into the development, and will there be a safety concern within the park with the increased traffic and so on. The property does have access to Maple St. At the last hearing the developer said that it was not cost effective to have the road go through there. The City Parks and Rec. dept. will be commenting on the development. One requirement that they will be requesting for safety and the integrity of the park is that the road be closed at the bend, where Betsy place/ Summit meet with Crane Park extension.
Again, as there is no variance needed the city does not have to hold a meeting for public response. They will accept written input.
Send your letters by 11/15/07 , as they will review the plan on
Friday the 16th. I believe that a copy of any letters should also be sent to the Parks and Rec. Dept as well as all of the city commissioners.
